yellowcard-when-youre-through-thinking-say-yesUK Release March 21st 2011 on Hopeless Records

They might be the grandaddies of pop-punk-emo, but Florida-formed LA-based Yellowcard sound like they’ve come through a Cocoon-style rebirth on this, their seventh studio album. ‘When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes’ is the result of their return after a two-year break, and after one listen, you’ll wonder how you coped without them.

This is sizzling, gut-knawing emo, hot as the California sun and fun as cruising in an open-topped car. For a band that’s been together 14 years, this is exploding with energy and pace. Read more here!

Rise Against began with the slow build up of ‘Chamber The Cartridge’ starting an electrifying set. Their blistering punk rock was focused and energetic, and smashing their way through a varied setlist, highlights were numerous. The classic, ‘Like The Angel’, was beautiful live, while ‘Saviour’ was a force to be reckoned with. travis-barker-give-the-drummer-someUK Release March 14th 2011 on Interscope Records

Drummer, producer, clothing and record company entrepreneur, reality TV star and plane crash-surviving all-round cool guy Travis Barker shows off his hip-hop street cred on this, his first solo record. And no, he’s not actually rapping, instead producing and keeping the backbeat for a veritable who’s who of hip-hop, rap and rock.

This could have sounded like an awestruck kid in a sweet shop, but the line-up alone (Cypress Hill, Busta Rhymes, Game) proves this skinny white boy knows what he’s doing.
