Does the festival season seem to have been going on for far too long?  Could you not afford the over-priced ticket to get wet in a field with strangers for a weekend? Or perhaps the line-ups just weren’t inspiring enough to make you dig that tent out? We at Midnight Mixtape feel your sorrow and want to provide some hope to you non-festival-goers* this summer.

Hevy Festival opened its doors on Friday to a few thousand campers for a weekend of fun, frolics and fantastic music. Bands were wide-ranging across different alternative genres, playing to eager fans of all ages, in a fresh field in rural Kent.

 

Hevy Festival held it’s debut in 2009, a one day festival headlined by Feeder, Gary Numan and Ash, on the Folkestone seafront. Founded by James Dutton and Claire Baker, the venture has been a long time in the making, but 2010’s fully-fledged weekend festival is a hugely impressive accomplishment.
